Notes

Improvised hat for B based on his drawings of a Gir-inspired hat, borrowing elements from several different hats. Features:

  • Hemmed brim which is folded over because I made the hat too long/tall.

  • Grafted seam at the crown.

  • Ears made by sewing a line to make triangles at the top corners of the hat.

  • Black seam slip stitch crocheted over the entire hat, including the inside of the hemmed brim.

  • Interfacing teeth whip-stitched to the inside of the hat.

  • Eyes could have been felt, but I didn’t want to do that - B chose these from SteamPunkDream on etsy. I initially ordered 16mm button back eyes, but they were too small, so I ordered the 30mm eyes (not available with a button back) & attached bar pin blanks to the back using Dimensional Modge Podge. Now he can move or rearrange them as he likes and remove them before he washes the hat.
