Notes

Less beret and more beanie but that’s actually OK. The original pattern made a ginormous hat, great for my ample-headed friend, not so much for me. I took out one lace repeat and it made it smaller than I expected but I actually really like the fit as floppy hats tend to fall of my head.

…later….

So sad. I’ll be tearing this out tonight. The combination of the super loose cast on and the half silk yarn (which the pattern was written for, yes?) means the hat is getting bigger by the minute. I can’t keep it on my head after wearing it for two hours. Bummed. Maybe it’s the weird provisional cast on? Might try with a regular old long tail.
