My friend and colleague had admired my own Miami Beach shawl and I bought this yarn as soon as I laid eyes on it at Cozy. Laura loved purple as much as me. It was to be a surprise gift for Christmas. Sadly, she passed away in a fatal car accident 5 days later.

I had the chance to meet her mother and family when they came to Oregon to be with her husband and attend to her affairs. I am making it for her mother and will send it to her in New York. I miss my friend everyday and am thinking of her with every stitch of this beautiful purple shawl…love to you Laura, forever.
