Notes

11-1 53’’ x 15” pre-block

10-27 OMG started the last chart today….squee!! I think this project proves I’m a project knitter as opposed to a process knitter…love the process but can’t WAIT to wear this on my shoulders!!! ….just realized the way the ruffle is made. P178 sts, really? Ugh. If the ruffle didn’t make the blossom end look so nice. Good thing I still have quite a bit of pod-cast catching up to do.

10-16 Chart E complete! Loving this part of the knitting; if I mess up and forget a knit or put an extra knit in, it doesn’t matter! It’s the organic part of the shawl and mistakes just make it that much more organic! Weee!

10-7 Chart D complete!

9-27 Chart D, here I come!

9-21 Ok, so it took me 16 days to get all the way through the first ball. I am offically halfway through this shawl. and I have 4 days to finish it, and really only 1 and a half days of knitting left to complete it. I think this goal is a wash. I really, REALLY did try though.

9-15 I think, tonight, repeat 4 will be completed. Tomorrow and Friday are off days, so I am hoping I will get a repeat in each day. We’ll see. And yes, update, I did get chart repeat 4 done, then realized I am going to be doing 7 repeats, not 8. Squee! I’m SO CLOSE sorta.

9-12 after a good night’s sleep, I have a goal of finishing repeat 2 and completing repeat 3, then seeing where I stand as far as brain space. I am also considering not beading for the entirety of the basketweave section; maybe just the first 3 or 4 repeats. The beads are slowing me down, plus, I’m running out and the hobby lobby is closed today. I will plan, of course, to start adding them back in the flower petal section. and oh goodness, i actually did make it through the third repeat unscathed!

9-11 brain not cooperating. I was able to get one entire ROW and purl back today. That’s the kind of day it was.

9/8 - halfway through the second repeat of the basketweave pattern. Is there any way I will be done by the 25th? Doubtful, but I am giving it the old college try.

9/5 - yes, on the needles for 5 months and only this far. Too much other stuff to do. BUT the close-up shows my beading really well! Putting it on the corners of the basketweave squares in the first chart…..and two hours later I have finished my first repeat of chart the first and perfected where the beads are going and am amazed at how well I am getting along with this pattern. Only found one mistake so far and managed to fix it…yay!

4/29 Wound the yarn, studied the pattern, after much debate decided to go with needle size called for (as my gauge is usually good with the needle size called for, and it seems most people who have made this stole out of this yarn have used 3’s with good results). Took a veeeery deep breath, dove into the beaded cast on!
