3/19 Got impatient and cast on today! Working a size bigger than originally planned, but people are saying they have 150+ yards left when purchasing the 1200 yards necessary, and I want some overlap in the front. Still concerned could run out of yarn, and things do seem to turn out bigger than I expect, so maybe the 39.5 would be better? So, there you go, while typing my into words to this project, I changed sizes. Go figure. (eta: this note from when it was going to be hampton cardigan)

5/3 having doubts about this yarn with this pattern. Argh. And so, with 5 lace repeats, it will be frogged. Gently. The lace and the yarn just don’t jive.

5/16 Has now transitioned into the Lily Cardigan. Leaving prev comments in for my own reference for when i do decide to make the hampton! Going for the 42” size, trusting it will fit my 39” bust appropriately.

5/18 Passed the point in the yarn I had knitted to on the Hampton, and wow. This looks soo much better in stst than in the lace. Already so so excited about wearing it.

5/24 I love this yarn. That is all.

7/27 Embarrassing how slowly this is moving. I’m halfway done with the second sleeve decreases. Going to try to bust through those today and maybe I’ll pick up some steam.

7/31 Sleeves completed, yay! Now for the body… miles of stockinette… wee…

9/18 after a sick day (er, really weekend) laying around the house pushing the fluids, I got through the waist shaping! 23” seems pretty long for me, so I’m going to go to 22” (as it stands, it’s at 21” after the shaping) and put it on waste yarn to see what I think about the length. Plus, it’s alpaca, so it’ll grooow right? Expect to have this done in the week!

9/25. Bound off! Decided to wash before edging… Ended up soaking twice because the water was so brown at the end of the first wash! Still planning crab stitch instead of picking up six gagillion stitches around the edge.

9/26 will it ever dry? note to self - need 3.5 yds of ribbon to line the edges of the cardigan.
