Notes

This was meant to be a hat for me, but despite knitting 2 gauge swatches (in stranded knitting and in the round) I managed to miss the intended gauge. Silly me.

The hat ended up with a gauge of 27 sts/10 cm, and knitting in the youth size it turned out perfect for the 6-year old I gave it to.

Circumference: 44 cm/17,3”
Weight of hat: 74 grams
The yardages listed above only include the hat proper, not the pompom!
Weight of pompom: 22 grams

Progress:
Nov 19: Bought yarn and started swatching on 3 mm needles. I know I am a loose knitter, so I didn’t even bother to try the recommended needle size. Got a gauge of 25 sts/10 cm. I tried 2.5 mm next, and got a gauge of 26 sts/10 cm. My head circumference is 22”/56 cm, so I decided to go for the youth size and get some negative ease.
Nov 20: Cast on. Doing the ribbing on needle 2 mm. By the end of the day I was at round 27.
Nov 21: Finished hat
Nov 22: Wove in ends. Made pompom. Faced the fact that the hat did not turn out adult sized, found a child to model the hat, and later gave the hat to my model.
