Doing this at a bigger gauge made it go faster, and the cotton/rayon blend was shiny. No beads. I love this pattern, because to me it looks like wings. I have yet to knit one for myself. Note: the photo is taken with the shawl off the pins, which is why it is not stretched out tightly.
