Notes

Great Project. This makes a fantastic fabric that looks good on both sides. Doesn’t require a lot of concentration so works up quickly.

My 1979 mon tricot Knitting Dictionary calls this stitch the Speckle Stitch. It is shown in three colors but only one row of each. This blanket version with two rows is a bolder, less congested version.

- With 5.00mm hook, chain 129. Single crochet into back bump - 128 SC. This row isn’t included in row count.
- Switch to 4.50mm hook and proceed with pattern.
- Measures 34” across.
- Forty rows is 12” long.
- End of first three skeins of yarn is ~27” and 89 rows.
- Finished 120 rows in pattern. This ends with the third color. Now one last repeat in the beginning color.
- Switch back to 5.00mm hook. Single Crochet down and back up the edge (125 st.)
- Because of the 5.00mm hook, doing the last row of the pattern with HDC instead of DC so the DC don’t create shells.
- Finish with SC down and back up the second side.
- Crocheting complete 10/6/2021.

Next Time
Do Row 3 as the last row of the pattern as pattern says and use SC across the last row.

About the Yarn
Aspen: Thickest of the three colors.
- First skein ran out after the starting chain plus 128 SC base round and 30 rows.

Grass Green: noticeably thinner than the other two.
- First skein ran out after 28.95 rows (7 stitches short of a complete row.) I expected it to last the longest because it was the thinnest.

Citron: Not as thick or as thin as the other two.
- Ran out after 30 rows.
