Modifications

Made a garter stitch edge instead of slip stitches. My knitting never looks quite right when I do slip stitch edges.

Changed the button band to have four smaller buttons instead of three larger ones. The larger buttons kind of overwhelm the cables a bit in my opinion.

I also switched from size 8 to size 6 needles for the ribbed section.

I did the buttonholes as two row button holes with a backward loop cast-on. I knit into the back loop of the cast on stitches and into the back loop of each stitch on either side of the cast on stitches to make them tighter. My buttonholes look less sloppy that way.

It’s blocking now and I just need to get some buttons to sew on and it will be done.

Finally found some buttons I like (not easy around here)! I’ll take some pictures tomorrow when the light is good.
