I used two strands of Red Heart Super Saver together with a 9mm hook. Due to it’s a different size, I had to alter the pattern. These are my modifications. I also feel like the pattern wasn’t clear enough, so I have added some clarification on it.
This is a double layered bed that is a flat sphere with curved walls. At least that’s my take on it, I could be wrong.
Rows 1-15 is the base of the bed.
Rows 16-25 is the walls of the bed.
Rows 26+ is the bottom of the bed.
Pattern Modifications: Use the pattern for rows 1-10.
11: 2sc in 1st st, 1sc in next 6 sts, repeat.
12: 1sc around.
13: 2sc in 1st st, 1sc in next 7 sts, repeat.
14: 1sc around.
15: 2sc in 1st st, 1sc in next 8 sts. repeat.
16-25: 1sc around.
Since I increased the middle part, the “wall” decrease will have to be altered as well.
26: sc2tog, 1sc in next 8 sts. repeat.
27: 1sc around.
28: sc2tog, 1sc in next 7 sts. repeat.
29: 1sc around.
30: sc2tog, 1sc in next 6 sts. repeat.
31: 1sc around.
32+: Follow the remaining part of the pattern.
Loop remaining yarn through sc’s and close.
I think you’ll need to increase the amount of rows of sc around to make the walls bigger. For mine, it’s kind of flat. Oh well, the cats love it.
