A family friend has a house in Florida and is going to bring me back an American Girl Samantha, so that I have a model for my doll dressmaking.
She will arrive early November and as I had an urge to pick up the needles instead of the hook for a change, I thought I would make a nice aran cardigan for her, or that is my intention. Granddaughters Annabel or Eva may have other ideas if it takes their fancy for one of their dolls. I gifted this in the end to my great niece Sophie for her doll.
Annabel has an American Girl doll and I bought Eva an Our Generation doll, so they could play every Thursday when they come to tea. I bought Our Generation Sienna for my house too, so that I could use her as a model and the girls could play with her too.
I dug out my knitting patterns and found this simple pattern. I was surprised that I would have to make the smallest size, I though I may have to reduce the number of stitches, but as I am using finer yarn and needles, I started with 58 sts for the back.
I am enjoying making this little cardigan and hope that the size turns out to be o.k.
