It is going to be my niece Lorna’s 30th Birthday in June and she asked me to make her an aran stitch bed runner/scarf for her bed.

The bed measures 2 mts across, so it takes ages to complete one row. I’m glad it is only going to be a runner for the bottom of her bed and not a full blanket.

I decided to use aran yarn this time.

Lorna found a blanket on Pinterest that she like with a zig-zag panel, but she also liked the throw that I made for her Mum (my sister) which was the Heart Throw, so I just omitted the heart panel.

As Lorna only wanted the runner to measure a quarter of the length of her bed, I only worked one repeat of the diamond stitch.

Useful Info:
Popcorn - 4 + 1 over 4 rows (I worked hdc instead of sc and don’t change hook size as recommended, (I make my Popcorns with 4 hdc ch1 sc ch1 4hdc popcorn), using 4.50mm hook.

Cable = 3 + 1 over 2 rows 4.50 mm hook

Arrow = 4 + 2 over 2 rows 4.50 mm hook

Zig-Zag = 14 = 1 over 13 rows 4.00 mm hook

Popcorn = 4 + 1 over 4 rows 4.50 mm hook
