This blanket is for Maeve. I made her a baby blanket when she was born and now she’s going to be a big sister in August.

I thought I would make her a big sister blanket with her name on it, as I’m making a blanket for her baby sister and didn’t want her to feel left out.

I’ve added her name in bobble stitch on a sc background.

For 5 round granny squares x 5 squares you will need to make a panel with 73 sc x 17 rows

For 5 round granny squares x 6 squares you will need to make a panel with 88 sc x 17 rows

It took me a while to work this out, but I got there in the end.

I make my letter using 5dc bobbles worked on the wrong side. I just chart out the letters on graph paper and work from that.

Border:

1. A round of granny clusters around the whole blanket with white.

2. Sc all around with 3 sc in corners in white.

3. 3 sc in centre st of corner 3 sc’s, ch1, skip 1, sc in next st.

4 - 7 3 sc in corner, ch 1 sc into ch 1 space of previous round.
