Susie asked me to make a cable stitch throw for her new home.

I had 1500 gms of cream aran in my stash which needs to be used up as part of my Stash-Down Blanket Extravaganza that I am doing at the moment.

I started it working as the pattern was written, with the help of Mikey of the Crochet Crowds Youtube tutorial.

After crocheting a few repeats I decided to frog it as it needed to be wider and I wasn’t happy with how the cables were looking.

I increased the width by one more pattern repeat and elongated the cables by working 2 extra rows between the twist.

Very pleased with the finished result.

Border:

Rd 1: Hdc along both long sides.
Rd 2: 1 dc in corner, ch 2, fpdc, bpdc finishing with a fpdc, corner = 1 dc ch2 1dc
Rd 3: 1 dc in corner, bpdc, fpdc finishing with a bpdc
