I saw this blanket and had to make it. I’m starting a bit late for this Christmas, but I will do my best.

I’ve made a couple of changes to the colour palette.

I started using the lipstick, but didn’t like it, so exchanged it for Burgundy.

I’ve also exchanged the Stylecraft mustard for Paintbox Simply D.K. Mustard.

I used Stylecraft Gold for the gingerbread people and Christmas baubles.

I used Lincoln and Cypress together and for the darker green I used Bottle

I’m using a 3.75mm hook throughout for both techniques.

Border I’ve worked as per pattern, but I used hdc instead of dc and worked in cream. I prefer the plain border to the bells. I’m not pleased with the border. I would make it in sc and smaller hook next time. I frogged it a few times. You can’t win them all

I decided to leave out the last panel (gifts) as I think the blanket was long enough and I wasn’t too fond of the gift panel.

I’m very pleased with the finished blanket and thoroughly enjoyed making it. The two techniques were new to me and I will probably make more in the future.
