This is a part Stash-Down Blanket, using up some unknown brand pink and green.

I’m making a lap blanket for my dear Aunty Sheila.

She has had a rough time of it lately, ending up in hospital for weeks and now she is in residence in a Care Home.

She has settled in well and I thought she might like a new lap blanket to brighten up her room.

I can’t wait for the time when we can visit her. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer. Luckily her sons can visit once a week.

I have dotted the odd flower square here and there.

I used MaryEllens Flower Square.

I used this technique to join the square.

Note to self:
When making the flower square, work first 2 rounds on right side. Turn when making flower into a square.
The flower will have wrong side facing, but will curl to the back which makes it lie flatter to the blanket.

Border:
I worked one round of granny clusters using this technique.
I just did a simple scalloped border, working 7 dc’s into the corner, sc in next space in between granny clusters, 7 dc in next space.
