Notes

Yet another of Bonnies beautiful designs. I have gifted this blanket to my cousin Sue in Nottingham who isn’t very well. I hope it gives her comfort and keeps her warm.

For tutorials of how to do the stitches in Bonnies patterns, see her YouTube videos.

I start with 2 rows of sc and then start band of cable, arrow and cable in oatmeal, which naturally folds inwards on the low ridge row, which forms a nice hem which I sew in place at the end.

I just go with the flow and do whatever pattern takes my fancy. I started with the basket-weave and then popcorn and celtic weave with the cable bands in between.

You can view all of my previous ones from the Aran Throw tab at the top of my project page here.

I always enjoy making these throws.

Note to Self:

When adding the top and bottom borders in woven stitch, don’t forget to work a sc row first, changing the yarn colour all along to make it look neater/invisible (see border photo)

Stats: 207 ch - 68 cables - 51 arrows - 51 popcorns
48” long 54 “ with border - 45” wide.

For a few tips see below:-

Popcorn - 4 + 1 over 4 rows (I always use dc instead of sc and don’t change hook size as recommended, (I make my Popcorns with 4 dc ch1 sc ch1 4dc popcorn).

Cable = 3 + 1 over 2 rows

Arrow = 4 + 2 over 2 rows

Celtic Weave = 4 + 2 over 4 rows (I would use a size larger hook for this one as it does nip in at the edges)

Basketweave = 6 + 1 over 6 rows (I always use a size smaller hook for this pattern and work an extra row of beige before and after the baske-tweave to give a neater appearance).
