My 5 year old grandson Sonny has asked me to make him and his brother, Oscar (4) a Super Mario blanket. Sonny wants Super Mario and Oscar wants Luigi.

I have quite a lot of Red Heart Super Saver that i ordered from the US some time ago and some Vanna’s Choice too, so i am going to use this, as i have heard that it is very hard wearing yarn and pretty indestructible which will be good for my two little boys.

I found a pattern on Pinterest. It is a bead pattern which should work well for a pixel blanket.

I am making 2 round granny squares and using the join as you go method to join the squares. There is a great tutorial for this here

All finished now in record time. I am hoping to get Oscars blanket done as quick so i can give the blankets to them both on Oscar’s birthday on the 24th!! Up-date - big fail, Oscar will have to wait until next week for his blanket, but he will have plenty of birthday presents to open instead. Happy Birthday Oscar Bear.
