I’m making this blanket for my new great nephew Henry who is due at the end of December 2020.

He will be my sisters first grandson after 5 granddaughters.
He is going to be spoilt by all of his girl cousins that’s for sure.

His Mummy, Lorna has chosen this blanket for his nursery. She wants a larger blanket suitable for his cot.

I really didn’t enjoy making this blanket. I kept missing or adding stitches to the beginning of the row.

I have written the pattern of what I did below for future reference, although I doubt very much that I will be making another one of these.

The colours were partly to blame, not a fan of dull green for a newborn.

I worked 12 rows in each colour for a total of 5 colour changes.

1 As pattern. I made 155 + 2 as I used d.k. Yarn.
2 Ch 2 fptc dc along ending with 1 dc.
3 ch1 sc all along
4 Ch2 dc fptc along ending with 2 dc.

Border:

I went around the 2 sides and last row with sc, working 2sc, 2ch, 2sc in corners, working green in green and cream in cream.
2 In cream 2hdc, ch2, 2hdc for corners, hdc all around.
