Notes

This simple garter stitch scarf (no purling!) with shaping on every row is perfect for using up bits of leftover sock yarn.

Using stitch markers turns this pattern into an easy project suitable for knitting meet-ups, waiting rooms, or watching TV.

~~~~~~~~~~
Rewrote the pattern to make it easier for me to follow:
  • CO 96 sts for 8 repeats per row (12 sts per repeat)
  • every row: (k5, k2tog, k4, kfb) across
  • change yarns at same edge
I gathered all my scrap sock yarn and realised I may not have enough for a scarf after all. If so, I’ll sew the cast-on and bind-off ends together to make a cowl instead.
~~~~~~~~~~~

All done and it’s snugly, warm, and beautiful! Photos after blocking.

December 28, 2022: Finally have enough sock yarn scraps to make another cowl.
