Notes

Hook is double-ended tunisian crochet hook.

Saw at a local handicrafts fair that tunician crocheting in the round is now IN, so I decided to learn it by making almost the same kind of mittens as in the yarn manufacturer´s brochure, but using different yarn and making some modifications.

The pattern that inspired me (only in Finnish): http://www.kangasaitta.fi/kangasaitta/web.nsf/pages/E9761...

I started at the beginning of the thumb modifications, because I was unsure what to do with the wrist piece. I thought I might knit an ordinary k1, p1 -rib. However, I decided to do it tunisian crocheting too, but picking the stitches so that it looked like a fish net. Finally crocheted an edging.

I like the mittens. The other has a little bit bigger thumb than the other, but who cares? I have shown the mittens to several people (older than me ) and no one has been able to wear them because the fish net is a little bit thight. To me they fit nicely.
