This will be an odd ball jacket/shrug, as per the pattern. It won’t be as brightly colored and will probably depend on the Kureyon for many of the stripes.

Update: not sure I’m liking the way the color is playing out, but because I’m relying on self-striping yarn if I have to rip it out it won’t be hundreds of little pieces.

Update: I frogged this and started over, no longer alternating between brown and other colors. Now the colors gradate in various ways. MUCH happier. I’ll try to get pictures soon.

Update: I’m almost done with the first sleeve; I’m adding a vertical garter stitch border and am liking it better than a plain band of it. I’m going back and working one on the body, too, which will take FOREVER, but whatever. :)

Update: both sleeves are done. I may have made the garter stitch border too long. I might redo them; we’ll see. They go quickly. I’m almost done with the body border; I’m REALLY glad I went back and did that, it’s going to lie a lot flatter. I highly recommend vertical garter stitch borders on this pattern.

Update: more or less finished! I will indeed have to redo the sleeve borders, in fact I may need to tear back some rows. I really miscalculated the length!

Last update: I ripped back the sleeves and redid them quickly. Now that it is finished, the kids have renamed it Mrs. Weasley, because apparently that’s who I look like in it. :)

Last update: alas, after the house fire (Nov. ‘14) it shrank.
