This is a modular shawlette based on a shell module pattern distributed by Knitting Daily. It was so roundly and unfairly vilified in the comments that I thought I had to try it out of cussedness. I knit up a bunch of shells, connected them with other shells, and so on. I’m using bits of Kureyon, Silk Garden, handspun and whatever else is lying around. I was hoping it’d be bigger, but it seems to want to be a shawlette.
Update: Finished! I crocheted a simple edging round it from one of the darker yarns--a row of single crochet and a row of double crochet, being careful to taper the beginning and ends. Last night I wove in all the ends. Now I need to block and photograph it! IT’S GORGEOUS.

I just figured out, like less than a month ago, that this shawl was knit upside down. >_< I don’t know if I can add on to it, as it was blocked after the big fire here at the house. But I’m a-gonna try.

A dear friend found a use for this: on the back of my knitting chair! It looks great there.
