Picked up 279 stitches for the lace part

Just recieved a yarnmail from Madelinetosh and decided spontaneously to replace the Birch Gray with Eurosock Minimal Pink Clay Optic for the lace.
I only had to sacrify the first 3 rows of lace I already done with the Birch Gray. Not a huge loss.
I really hope, 1 skein is enough for the lace section. (I only have this one).
1 lace repeat = 15g = 3.3 cm. This will be less than 7 repeats and only 24.5cm. Oooops, I don’t want a bolero!!!
I will frog the lace and pick up less stitches to solve my problem. Need a break now!

Next try with 219 stitches.
Et voilà I am down on 10g per repetition.
This will be enough for 10 repeats and 33 cm. Perfect, I guess.

It’s to small for me…. I don’t like the style and the fit, it looks kind of childish.

I solved this problem by going back and adding a few rows on the bottom and also I added a few rows of k1p1 ribbing at the cuff.

Now it fits, as you can see.
But it doesn’t work worn upside down. The 60 stitches in the lace part that I had to omit are missing.

To notice…. 1 skein for the lace really isn’t enough!!!
Next time go for M and not S.
