Mood Blanket 2014

I joined in with the 2014 Crochet Mood Blanket project that started on Instagram. There’s also a group for it here on Ravelry.

The idea is to crochet a square for every day of the year to reflect your mood. I decided not to go on moods because I thought I would either get bored with analysing my mood every day, or that I might end up with a ridiculous range of colours and combinations to reflect nuances that I’d get fed up with it all. So I decided to go totally random.

Occasionally squares mark events. Sometimes I used a yarn I’d just bought or been given. Other times it was just what I fancied using. Sometimes I tried different designs, sometimes I used designs I’d done before so I could perfect them or just because I liked them.

I never imagined it would be such an interesting journey. My last square was made on Boxing Day and I had five days over to finish joining and edging the blanket.

Look at the photos and captions from the bottom up. What a great way to learn lots of crochet techniques!
