6 june 26 My gauge is out but I don’t want to go down to a smaller size needle as I like the feel of the fabric. Knitting a smaller size to my measurements to compensate, the beauty of top down knitting is that you can try it on as you’re going along.

7 june 26 started on the front lace pattern.

This was a really enjoyable knit, the lace pattern at the front helping the break the monotony of all the stocking stitch. Also, incorporating the buttonholes into an Icord on the button band was a revelation, I can’t see myself knitting button bands any other from now on. The fit of the garnement is perfect.

The yarn is great to work with, i have used it before both for fair isle and plain projects, I love the slightly rustic feel which blooms nicely after washing, I love the slight thick and thin texture, and the little knups of different colours.
