--4/3/2011 This should have been finished MONTHS ago, but I got distracted w/ Nerd Wars projects and my black cardi has been neglected. Finally finished it today!

--Finally using this yarn I’ve had for a while. I’ve been needing a nice basic black cardigan.

--Although this was cast on in 2010, due to the holidays, most of it is being knit in 2011, so I am counting it towards my 52 in 52, 2011 count.

--I thought I found an error in the math. You start with a set number of stitches between the back markers. (For the size I’m knitting it is 24) After knitting rows 1-8, that number will have increased by 8. (total = 32 for the size I’m knitting) Then the pattern says to repeat rows 2-7 until reaching a certain number of stitches in the back. Rows 3,5,&7 each have an increase of 2 stitches in the back for a total of 6 new stitches each time you knit rows 3-7. However, the numbers the pattern gives for the back are all off by 2. For instance the size I’m knitting says I should have 54, which is mathematically impossible. 24+8=32 32+6=38 38+6=44 44+6=50 50+6=56

HOWEVER the designer recently contacted me and told me the following:

You do not need to complete the full sequence of 7 rows. Stop when you get 54 between the back markers.

--Used provisional cast on for underarms. Why pick up stitches when a provisional cast-on makes it easier??
