Needed a mask for the annual Scifiworld convention, so decided to crochet a Clicker mask!
The base is a dc circle that covers the face (lip to forehead), then a few rows from ear to ear and then a chain to make it a circle and continuing in decreasing spirals until it fits. I decided to cut out eyeholes after to be able to see better since I had my glasses on underneath.
The “cordyceps” is a long ruffle. The edges consist of inc, dec, sc, dc, slst, popcorn stitches in variable degrees to make it bubbly. The first row was crocheted in the backloops so the last edge could be stitched down in the frontloops for that 3D effect.
Then it was just a matter of arranging the ruffles to the base and stitch in place.
Also crocheted some teeth and maxilla bone to sit on the edge over the top lip and painted those with acrylic paint.
