This Shawl is inspired by the 8 of Water card from the Gaian Tarot by Joanna Powell Colbert. I have a couple of other patterns in my projects that are inspired by other cards from this Tarot deck.

The 8 of Water in the Tarot deck is about walking away from things you have an emotional attachment because you know they are no longer good for you. This is very hard to do at times and why swimming against the current is a good analogy.

I designed this pattern with the help of the Craftsy class Designing Lace Shawls with Miriam Felton. If you want to start designing your own shawls you should take this class! It was the best money I have ever spent on a class.
