Mouse: knit mostly as written but sometimes subbed another increase, ie mod kfb or lifted. Disappearing ring cast on for mouse bottom and pant bum. Turkish/winding cast on for hands because, why not? Nose is doubled fingering weight Koigu. Eyes are the easy pre-knotted fake French knots using fingering. Added a small bit of stuffing in the hands only.
Tail: changed to smaller needles part way for a taper.
Clothing
Sweater in stockinette, German twist cast on for stretch, skipped a few rounds because stockinette instead of garter. Bound off with jssbo. Shorter sleeves.
Pants instead of overalls. I made some overalls but they turned out small (my own fault) and I was unhappy with my color for this mouse. Mouse number two will get to wear them. For these pants I put an extra stitch in each leg afterthought, adding 2 sts per leg. No ribbing at lower leg, instead increased near the bottom for a bit of flare. Pants are shorter than pattern.
Hat: wanted a brimmed hat, co 48 sts, worked a couple of rounds and decreased to 32 sts. Did one round of k1, sl 3 wyf to get a hat “cord” ( would be easier to just weave a cord through after knitting the hat). Less rounds worked and decreased to fit the mouse head. All stockinette.
Socks (boots in this case) as written but only 1 round ribbing then bound off in pattern.
