I was greatly inspired to make this shawl by this wonderful project

I spotted the project in Community Eye Candy and instantly knew it to be the perfect idea for my mother-in-law’s birthday present.

The pattern is challenging enough not to be boring but easy enough to remember after a couple of repeats. I’ve made slight alterations to the original pattern. lnstead of 4 knit stitches between pattern repeats I’ve knitted lace insert as follows: knit 2 together, yarn over, knit 2 on right side, purl 2 together, yarn over, purl 2. I made 18 repeats of lace pattern, 9 for each side and for the border I knitted rows 9-14 18 times.
After blocking the shawl turned out quite long, longer than I expected, almost 3 meters long. I had my mind half made up to make it shorter. But my husband said that it was beautiful (which is something to hear))) so I decided to leave it as it is.
