Hoping to make this for myself in time to wear to Stitches West :-)
Looking forward to my shipment of yarn from KnitPicks…not sure if I ordered enough of anything to make this, but I will see… and if not, then perhaps a trip to VFKW is in order!

1/10/13: just acquired some luscious hand-dyed Madeline Tosh merino wool that I am hoping to use for this hat. I hope I have enough! Found a color that goes really well with my coat. Putting up a new photo that shows the yarn w/ buttons on the coat I think it complements. I can’t imagine any photo doing it justice. Got 2 sizes of buttons because I couldn’t decide.

:-( Requires 2 hanks yarn…. Even making it a non-slouch hat with smaller brim would probably not work. My decide whether to have two color hat, or choose a different yarn. Probably all for the best, considering it calls for worsted weight and the DK is probably too thin.

1/11/13: found yarn and started!!! Yay!!!
Later: eek! At ds’s bball practice and I forgot to bring the pattern. A test of my memory and skills!

1/12/13: making good progress on the brim (on row 59 of the shells) and loaded a photo to show how things are going. The photo (#3) does not do justice (to put it mildly!) The second photo (on the red table cloth) is much closer to reality… maybe the wood of the table or the artificial light. I think the sun was shining through when I took the second pic. Anyway, I am looking forward to starting on the crown… already making plans for another Maid Marian Hat!
