Notes

The area where I live in Spain is known as Casas des Aires, the houses of the wind. When I walk down our trail at sunrise and the wind howls past me, pushing me back up the hill to home, I recognize the rightness of this name. A week of wind will settle in, keeping me inside while it rattles the shutters and pounds at the doors, and I’m happy to snuggle with my knitting on the couch. A fitting project to commemorate this brief home in a beautiful country, made in Spanish wool-sourced yarn.

With five colors I modified the pattern to go from darkest to lightest: 11”, 9”, 7”, 5”, and 3”. This is making a much larger shawl than I anticipated! If I were to do it over again, I would have divided each skein in half and done the same amount of grams of each color and not worried about attaining inches. As it is, the initial color used very little of the skein but the second used quite a bit!

All done! Definitely only had a tiny bit left of the last couple of colors! Used the lace/simple stretchy/k2togtbl bind off. Seems to have worked well. I held it a bit snug to keep it from being too loose. Love the resulting size and plushness of this yarn. Will measure after blocking.
