Notes

Using leftover nearly-full skein of orange-magenta-lilac-beige-white Alize Miss Batik (what was left after crocheting “Ygritte”).

Looking at project notes, this pattern may be a little trickier than it looks and apparently requires lots of stitch marking…

Ok, it wasn’t as tricky as I expected! It’s certainly not a simple pattern, and square doilies usually do require a little more attention than circles, but (possibly because I went into the project thinking it would be really complicated with lots of stitch markers) I was surprised that it went fairly smoothly.

The instructions for some rounds do look kind of complicated, I’d agree. I didn’t have to rewrite anything for this one, but I did have to carefully go through some sections stitch by stitch until I understood the repeat.

I like the Irish crochet style of this doily, and I think it looks great in the Alize Miss Batik thread!

After some of the other doilies I’ve crocheted recently, I appreciated the fact that there were relatively few “tall” stitches.
