I need to crochet a doily. (No-one panic; this happens, from time to time.) I also need to use some more of the cool slow/long-color-change thread in my stash.

Christmas Eve? The perfect time to treat yo’self, as they say. Let the Alize Miss Batik doilying begin!

Fun pattern! Nothing too terribly difficult, if you’re familiar with textured doily-making, though there are some tricky spots.

I seem to recall a round or two with either trebles or double trebles worked together, which can tend to get a bit “stretched” at the top, but it all worked out in the end.

Round 16 was a little tricky for me. Easy to skip one too many sc, and then the whole round is slightly off. Similarly, there are some hard-to-see Round-14 sc that you have to dc into on Round 15. Little things like that can trip you up.

This isn’t my favorite colorway of this thread-- not bad, but more of a Southwestern feel than I usually go for in my décor. All the more reason to go ahead and use it up.

I may have used slightly more than half the skein of thread, but it was very close.
