Started the first sleeve, not sure if I will work three quarter sleeves or not, I will have to try it on before I make up my mind. Decided to make full length sleeves. Only the second sleeve to go now, so excited about finishing this sweater……..I hope my SSS (second sleeve syndrome) doesn’t raise its ugly head. I hate making anything twice.

Notes:
Full length sleeves and 1 extra pattern repeat to slightly lengthen the body.

Pre-blocked gauge: 26 sts x 26 rows on 3.75mm needles (all my stranded knitting projects measure up square like this so I don’t know how blocking will yield 21 sts x 28 rows or anywhere near it)
After blocking: 22 sts x 24 rows (just goes to show what I know doesn’t it?) So almost sort of, at gauge.

The fit is good which is what matters, but it isn’t coming up as the XL size, I knew it wouldn’t due to my tight knitting tension, more a size L.

All ends sewn in and ready for blocking tomorrow. I’ll try steam blocking first and see what happens, if necessary I’ll wet block but I’m dreading it becoming too big.

Steam blocked the sweater this morning and it has grown a little wider and longer but that’s to be expected. Really love the pattern as it’s so easy to follow but the gauge issue is very dependent on the yarn/tension/needle size you use so a very personal outcome. It was good to be colourwork knitting again, I was getting rusty.
I’m going to wear this on Halloween, I hope it’s a chilly night.
