The most exciting part of the test knit has been to see how every single knitter made some kind of change to suit their preference. How awesome is that?!

My third design in The Conservatory Collection is all about the tulip! Once again, this motif is from Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible by Hitomi Shida and this design with its multiple repeats, in combination with this intense red, reminds me of the vast fields of tulips in Holland. I had a lot of fun knitting the end panels, forming each tulip.

What a gorgeous red! A tough one to photograph accurately, though.

What feels like a gazillion swatches later, I finally nailed down exactly what I had envisioned for this design and I can’t tell you how exciting it is to see it come to life.

It’s funny, I have so much fun with texture - be it cables or lace, that when the textured section comes to an end, it can be… well, disappointing. Luckily there’s more lace to come.
