Notes

I am hosting a baby shower for dearies Amy and Max next week and must have a cute, neutral baby hat for their little one due in Feb.

MUST USE STASH YARN!

I made the changes to the pattern according to my previous hat from this pattern as I felt it needed an extra two knit rows after the second picot edge to allow beginning of the purls not to show thru at the bottom of the hat. (Hat construction is such that brim and lining of brim is knitted and then the piece is turned to the WS to continue with the RS of hat body.) Frankly, more than two rows would have been fine as these are the underside/lining rows and I would actually prefer them to appear as stockinette knits rather than purls. The only purpose for this construction is the double picot trim rather than to ‘hide’ the stranded portion. Oh well.

Just finished two little thumb-less mittens to match. Had to use the darker MC due to limited yarn. This is a good thing as it also means stash is being used up!

I ordered several spare, tiny, recycled fur poms from my favorite supplier, ElleVintage. I can’t remember what color this one was but I had quite a few to pick from and this was the bestest! stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

BTW, I need to remember that I do not like the decrease method for the top of this pattern and I will change it next time as there are many other options to use. I am tempted to add another hat to the gift and thinking of making a Grey Fox Happiness Hat!
