I am having way too much fun knitting this darling hat designed by my friend Ellen Silva.

I started this yesterday and could not put the project down!

I should have thought ahead and purchased my black beads while the stores were open because now it is early Monday morning and I’m tapping my fingers as I wait for the local store to open so that I can work the first bead row!

The shaping of these little foxes is very, very clever and I’m enjoying a few new techniques that are detailed in the notes as well as some YouTube video links.

Tick tock…photos coming as soon as I get some beads in place! Found beads at Michael’s. They are called Czech glass beads size 2/0 and came in a square tube. The trick to finding a good bead for this project is one where the yarn will fit through the hole when pulled through double which is the technique I used rather than pre-stringing beads on the yarn.

Also fun to note that the yarn I’m using was from a TKGA conference door prize…who would have known that a single skein of this yarn would have been so fortuitously used? Another great thing about this yarn is the nice stitch definition and of course it is soft on little heads and washable for young families!

Updated info on the recycled fur pom pom I used. They are available from this seller and I am VERY pleased with them as they are easily removable for washing. ElleVintage369
