I have acquired my first original Bohus designed garment and I want to share it here since it is one that I have not seen before and may be of interest to others in my Bohus Sitckning group.

I call this the Collared Pale Shimmer since the patterned part (in the collar only) uses a section of the Pale Shimmer chart and has been confirmed by Pernille Silfverberg at Angoragarnet as such.

A brief description: The garment was knitted in pieces from the bottom up and seamed. The body of the cardigan was knitted in 100% natural colored lambswool using stockinette stitch throughout except for the button bands and small sections of the collar. The sleeves are set in and have raglan shaping, with the cuffs (as well as lower border) being turned under with a purl row and hemmed with about a 3/4” facing.

The sweater, IMO, is in very good condition considering it is anywhere from 48-78 years old. (Bohus Stickning was in operation from 1939-1969.) There are minor repairs and older, faint stains that look to have been addressed properly but can still be seen under close scrutiny due to the fact that older stains can linger in a way when a garment ages. One sleeve cuff hem has come undone just a tiny bit and can easily be re-secured.

The size is approximately 38” bust with a relatively short body length of 13.5” from underarm to bottom edge. Sleeves are fitted and measure 18” in length from underarm to cuff.

The body gauge is knit at approximately 9 stitches per inch. The button band of 1x1 ribbing is 22 stitches wide. The button holes have not been reinforced, have held up well and appear to be three stitches wide.

I hope to use this garment as an example and recreate it in the future.
