After many breaks, on 12/29, i finally finished this scarf for my mom. She absolutely loved it. I did 8 full repeats. It’s stole/wrap size.

September 2015:
took a long break and worked on other projects.
finally started back up on this (Christmas gift for my mom) at the beginning of September.

January 2015:
i could not wait to start this gorgeous project, after finishing Nancy Marchant’s Craftsy “Explorations in Brioche Knitting” class. I feel 100% more confident with brioche knitting, especially the increases and decreases. (Wow, I just LOVE brkyobrkyobrk!! so much FUN!!! :-) I am beyond excited that I finally started the beautiful Willow on 1/3/15.

1/5/15 - I have just finished the first 24 rows in the wee hours of the morning around 2 am (stayed up to finish - went back to fix a dropped stitch, of course, ;-) and I am in absolute, utter LOVE with this pattern… how beautiful! It is a sheer pleasure to knit this. Have other projects to finish this week, but hope to return asap. I still have two Alex scarves from the class that I started and will want to finish before getting back to this. At least i got it started. ;-)

Hints:

a) DEFINITELY follow the chart, it’s much easier!

b) use the little stitch marker/plastic thingy to hook the middle stitch when doing the 4stitch decrease - learned that from Nancy and I actually hook it ahead of time when working that row, so it is ready when i get to it. :D

c) If you want to have your Willow qualify in the WillowKAL, then don’t cast on until 2/1/15….. :) so I will be casting on another one on 2/1/15, for moi, with Burgundy and Turquoise.
