Notes

Started a practice version of this yesterday to check gauge - needed to chain 28 sts instead of 26 to get required length (width after 4 rows and after 8 rows was correct though).

Will probably need to do more than 10 extra repeats of the pattern as head size is larger than the standard size in pattern.

  • got 6 repeats in and somehow have lost some stitches, rows are lopsided. Starting again!

16-12-2021: 5 repeats in and have managed to keep the rows a consistent length (obsessive counting and stitch-marking!)

Finished it on the morning of the day when I was giving this as a present - just in time. It fitted well and the recipient was very happy with it, especially when we went for a post-lunch walk on a very chilly day!

Pattern was very good and I’ll definitely use it again. It taught me that I need to be more careful than I realised with counting stitches in multi-ply yarn.
