This project is based on my child’s artwork. See photos for their drawing reference.

The knit pattern will be adapted to incorporate the colour s of the original artwork.

I will probably try to create the tie and corsage in crochet.

I am using M1R and M1L in place of the pattern’s suggested CO1 increase method. (Following the pattern note about CO1 being useful for fluffier yarns)

I’ve realized I’m knitting my practice cat on 4mm needles. Must remember to go down to 3.25 for Goo Boo proper.

Also, it has come to my attention that “Goo Boo” is a term of affection my kid uses for this character. Their actual name is top secret, unknown even to me.

I’ve been working on a new version of this cat, closer to my kid’s drawing. I’m using LLI and RLI for the increases. I’m also using a smaller needle size (3.25mm) for a denser fabric.
