This yarn is heavenly! If I had to use it only for the rest of my life - I would be happy.
I have one more skein that was intended for a cowl, but the hat is so wonderful I may keep the skein for a second hat.
The pattern is lovely for wearing -- so light and soft. It would make a lovely chemo cap -- a light cap for warmer days to alternate with a heavier, cozy, cold day hat.
At first, I found the pattern fussy. But when I stopped using a cable needle, it became so quick. The pattern is quite clever and fits well. The designer clearly thought this through. One warning - I had is only a few yards of the precious yarn left at the end of knitting this size medium so I would weigh the yarn as you knit the last few repeats. It would be simple to adjust if you need to decrease earlier.
I don’t know why I kept putting this project down and away - I think because the color of the yarn was hard to see, harder than I thought for a medium blue, and meant I kept changing needles to find one with best contrast so I could see the yarn. Every time I put it away I had to think about where I was in the pattern and tink a bit to see - you don’t think you will forget! I am usually a made note taker. Another thing I did not do here. Note to self: Mark down where you stop!
Knitter’s pride 16” interchangeable dreamz was the most successful needle for this medium blue in the end, although the addi natura bamboo was great, but I just had a fixed 32” needle so used it for decreases with the other needle.
I will definately make this one again! A light fingering/laceweight hat is a treasure.
