Notes

My friend Claire recommended this yarn, this pattern, and this color (what - purple!). Thank you, Claire. It is a lovely knit.

The yarn is delicious -- the hand is somewhere between cashmere/cotton/wool -- and super soft. And once you read the hang tag and the story of the yarn, you can feel good about the yarn while you are using it, imagining Tibetan people collecting the Yak down to spin the fiber.

The lace is one of those lovely self-directing patterns (after a few rows, you can see the pattern -- oh here is a YO on the row below, time for a YO now) you don’t even need markers and only need to refer to the pattern at the begining and the end of each row.

I may not block this. The texture is very nice.

I started this on the Amtrak train to DC, and noticed the lace looks like the Amtrak symbol. It was a fun knit and very wearable. I recommend this yarn and this pattern.
