Well I got through a quarter of the rows, thinking “I’m not really wild about the edge, and the designer did write it in such a way that people could change it if they wanted….” And then I realized that the hand was too stiff, and my gauge a little small (this is what I get for not swatching). So I ripped out that last three days’ work and went in search of bigger needles and a nicer edge. Maybe something with lace. After a few hours, I finally came across a free pattern with a beautiful leaf pattern, Cabled Lace Cowl. It does make the caplet quite a bit wider, but my friend has much broader shoulder than I. So let’s see how it goes.
