STITCHES West 2016 and Skacel have joined forced to support the wonderful charity KnittedKnockers.org.

To further help the fundraising effort to cover shipping costs, stuffing, etc., the instructors have been asked to design some knockers for an auction at STITCHES West.

The pattern for knitted or crocheted knockers is available for free at KnittedKnockers.org.

1/15/16: Skacel was so generous to send the requested yarn and I’ve made my first 2 knockers that will be the base for my fun knockers.

I used HiKoo CoBaSi on US 3 (3.25 mm) needles and increased to 43 sts on each needle before working the purl rnds and decreasing. The knocker measures about 51/2” across.

Now the dress up begins… fun, fun, fun! :)

Since I’m a multi-crafter I thought of doing something a bit unusual and decided to make up a tatted cozy for one of the knockers.

I like how the design has turned out. Off to block and sew it to the knocker.

The wall of knitted designer knockers sure was a conversation starter at this year’s STITCHES West event!

Over 1,500 knitted knockers were donated during the event (wow!) and so many more people are now aware of this cause.

My two knockers “Tit for Tat” and “Knocktopus” helped raise a $100 dollars to defray their shipping and stuffing cost.
