Notes

My son wanted some new armor! :-) His sister knit him some fingerless gloves years ago and now they are too small and well worn. So, I couldn’t help myself but cast on some new ones for him. They look very cute. Here are the modifications I made for his 8 year old hands:
-I casted on 36sts

  • I cut out a repeat of the linen stitch at the bottom and top of the mitt.
  • For the thumb gusset, I knit rows 1-3 and then only repeated rows 2 & 3 three times, ending with 9 sts to put on the waste yarn. When I put these sts back on the needle, I only picked up 4 more (for a total of 13sts) for the thumb. I knit 3 rows and bound off.
  • At the top, instead of knitting fingers, I knit 2 rows after the lateral braid and then bound off.
