Etsy Charles Isabella Table Runner with Giant Tassels

The table is only 41” wide. So if place settings are 12” plus 2” space, that leaves 13” for this table runner. There are no finished measurements on the pattern. And no gauge.

This is going to be an adventure to say the least.

The order was delivered two days early!
Cast on. Spit splicing which is great so that there are only two ends to weave in!

Each square of the body should measure 9” so, 10 squares are needed plus the triangle piece at each end.

I am using a US15, the pattern called for a US19. I wish that the designer would have included the gauge for this pattern.

The width is 14.5” The length is 53 now. “ My plan now is to make the table runner 71.” That is approximately 24” shorter than the 95” table depending on what works best with the stitch pattern. No tassels. That leaves room for place settings at the ends of the table and no safety hazard for little hands.

This table runner has very pretty stitch definition and great texture. But it is very heavy and it hurts my hands to knit with it.

It will be a beautiful accessory with these modifications.

For a modern or minimalist look, you can also use a runner that is significantly shorter than the table’s length and sits in the center as a base for a centerpiece, with room left for placemats at the ends.
