I find it more efficient to knit the two soles first, spray them with the Plasti-Dip, set them out to dry, then knit the upper parts. That way, the bottoms are easier to spray and they are dry and ready to be crocheted to the uppers.

Wonder clips work really well for the pinning part.

I bound off loosely through the back loop over the arch, and bound off the standard way around the rest of the leg opening.
